Runner Registration

I haven’t received entry information yet. Why?

No entry information will be provided by post.
Instead, please download the information yourself.
Details will be provided to you by mail in late January 2023.

I can’t go in person for runner registration. Will registration by a proxy be accepted?

Registration by someone other than the registered runner will not be accepted.
Be sure to complete your registration in person.
Also note that, exchanging your bib (Number card) will not be accepted on the day of the event.

I’m disabled and will run together with an escort runner. Do I need to complete the registration together with my escort runner?

Be sure to register together with your escort runner.
Note that no registration by a proxy will be accepted, whether the registration is for you or your escort runner.

Do I need to wear a security band?

To prevent terrorism (intrusion by suspicious persons) and proxy running, we need all runners to wear a security band after our staff members confirm the runners’ identities. We would appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Please continue to wear the security band until the day of the event.
Note that if it cannot be confirmed that you are wearing the band at the time of entering the starting area, you will not be allowed to run the race.

What should I do if I do not have a photo identification document issued by a Japanese public authority?

Present your Social Security card, voter registration card, Selective Service (draft) card, Medicare or other health cards, or similar photo IDs issued by your company (employee ID), student ID or credit card.

What is the station nearest to INTEX Osaka?

We recommend the following stations.
Get off at Cosmosquare Station, Osaka Metro Chuo Line (approx. a 9-min. walk from Exit 3 or 4)
Get off at Trade Center-mae Station, Osaka Metro New Tram (approx. an 8-min. walk from Exit 1)
Get off at Nakafuto Station, Osaka Metro New Tram (approx. a 5-min. walk from Exit 3)

Event Operation

Will the event take place even if it rains?

The event will take place even if it rains, but it might be canceled if it is difficult to operate the event due to a storm or other extreme weather conditions.

Where can I check whether the event will take place or not? If the event is canceled, will I be informed of it?

If the event is canceled, the cancellation will be posted on the official website as soon as possible after the decision has been made.
Please check the official website in the morning on the day of the event to see whether the event will take place or not. (We plan to post the decision at 5:00 a.m.)

How will the waiting blocks be set up?

To relieve congestion and prevent infection, a wave (corral) start will be used.
A wave-start schedule and waiting blocks will be set up according to the certified time on the record certificate (personal best time) submitted at the time of application, regardless of having JAAF membership or not. Those who have not specified a certified time on the record certificate or an estimated finish time will start from the rearmost block of the last wave. Please note that if you start from a point forward of the set wave, you will be disqualified.

(1) Invited athletes / Elite runners
(2) Those who have a personal best time (gross time or net time) (The time must be recorded at a confirmable race held within the past two years. If it is found to be a false report, the entry will be canceled.)
(3) Those who reported an estimated finish time
(4) Those who reported neither a personal best time nor an estimated finish time

Will a sign language service be available at the event venue?

Volunteers who can communicate in sign language will be stationed at the general information desk of INTEX Osaka at the time of runner registration and at the general information desk of each of the start and finishing areas (Osaka Castle Park) on the day of the event.
Other staff will communicate through writing.

Will traffic restrictions be placed on dates other than the day of the event?

Traffic restrictions are planned to be placed only on the day of the event.

Will changing rooms be set up?

Yes. We will set up changing spaces and changing tents at the venue.

Will shower rooms be set up?

No.

Will a delivery service be arranged for large baggage to be transported to the event's baggage check-in service?

No delivery service will be arranged. For large baggage, please use your hotel’s baggage check-in service or use a delivery service at a convenience store.

Will my record certificate be sent by post?

Not by post. Please download it from the record certificate download page.

How can I download my record certificate?

Access the URL below and enter the and your number, name, and date of birth.

I want to download it, but I’ve forgotten my ATHLETE BIBS number.

Find it from the event program for the relevant fiscal year on the official website. Alternatively, call the call center yourself.

What will happen if the new coronavirus infection spreads further?

Note that the event will be canceled if it has been decided that the safety of the event operation will not be able to be ensured due to the infection situation in the future. In that case, the commission fee, donations, and Furusato Nozei (hometown tax) will not be refunded for any reason. The amount of refund of the entry fee will be determined after deducting the expenses incurred before the cancellation decision is made. For the right to participate in the next event and the shipment of the participation prize, decisions will be made according to the timing of the cancellation.

If I find on the day of the event that I cannot participate, will proxy running be accepted? Alternatively, will my entry fee and charity donations be refunded?

You cannot transfer your right to participate to anyone. If proxy running is discovered, you and your proxy will be disqualified.
In that case, the event organizing body will not make any compensation.
Also note that even if you notify us before the event that you cannot participate, no refund will be made for any personal reason once you have made the payment to us.
Donations will also not be refunded for any reason.
If the event is canceled, the running right that you have obtained by making donations will be transferred to the next event.

Can I have a receipt?

No receipts will be issued, so use the credit card statement or bill issued by your credit card company.

If I get injured while running, will the injury be covered by insurance?

It will depend on the case. If you are injured while running, the details will be checked to see if insurance coverage will be available or not. In this regard, please call the call center yourself.
(Note that insurance coverage might not be available depending on the injury.)

If the event is canceled, what will become of my entry fee, donations, entry right, participation prize, etc.?

The amount of refund of the entry fee, etc. in the case of race cancellation will be determined after deducting the expenses incurred before the cancellation decision is made.
For the right to participate in the next event and the shipment of the participation prize, decisions will be made according to the timing of the cancellation.
