Charity Runner System

Overview
This is a system which qualifies entrants having collected dontions of 70,000 yen and more widely among the general public through Just Giving Japan (renamed JAPAN GIVING as of January 21, 2015) by selecting the organization they wish to support from 13 charitable organizations, to participate in the race. Although we accepted applications for charity runners after closing the applications for general entries and accepting charity runners among those who failed to be selected in the drawing for the previous race, we changed the system to accept applications for charity runners at the same time as starting to receive applications for general runners from the Osaka Marathon 2014.
Total charity runners per organization and activities performed
Charitable organizations called for people to participate in the race as charity runners via their website and SNS, targeting a volume of charity runners which would exceed the previous stated figure to be aimed for.
Application period: From Thu., April 3, 2014 to Thu., July 31, 2014 375 people requested donations by September 30, 2014 and more than 70,000 yen was collected as donations. (Total participants: 354)
