(4) Approach for the Osaka Marathon 2016

Creating a charity poster with a young Osaka-based artist
To further familiarize various people with the Osaka Marathon, we worked with a young Osaka-based artist to create a charity poster.
We also adopted a poster design from the winning artwork of the Fifth Exhibition of Publicly Offered prizewinners’ work in the Project on scouting new and promising stars in the modern art world by Osaka Prefecture.
Adopted artwork
“Biriken-san is welcoming you” by Ryota Kudo
Artist’s Comment
Tsutenkaku is rising to its full height with a smile in the center of Shinsekai – at least that’s what it looks like to me. It also resembles a transmitting tower in the heart of Osaka; delivering happiness and energy throughout Japan and the world from the Kinki region.
Why not visit Osaka full of energy and happiness?!
Biriken-san awaits you!!
I will continue to deliver colorful work featuring geometric patterns from the center of Osaka, which I hope you will enjoy!

We had 1,628 people from 55 organizations participated in the event and created the Osaka Marathon that cheered everybody up, not just the runners.
Moreover, we designated 7 of the aforementioned 15 spots according to the theme colors as “Nanairo (Rainbow Color) Cheering Stations” whereby each station was decorated according to the designated theme color (the order of the charity color starting with purple, navy, aqua, green, yellow, orange and red). We asked supporters to cheer runners while wearing and using the theme color associated with their theme.
